Ronnie C. Ferrell, 71, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, in his home. He was a native of Logan, West Virginia, and had been a resident of Newport News for 48 years. Ronnie was a member of the Church of Christ. He graduated from Chapmanville High School, then attended The Apprentice School at the Newport News Shipbuilding, where he became a master shipbuilder.

Ronnie’s wife Brenda is my best friend so I spent a lot of time with Bredna and Ronnie in their home. I learned that Ronnie had a heart of gold. He loved his family deepley. When his son, Terry, parolized came home from the hospital after his stroke in May of this year, Ronnie, hardly able to walk, hobbled to Terry’s room, stood there, rubbing and kissing his head. Thats was such a tender monent for me.
Ronnie prayed with me and a preacher who came to visit, he repented and asked God to save his soul. So now I know he’s in heaven with his parents. Rest in Peace now, Ronnie!
