Danny Robinson
Danny Robinson passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at his home after a brief illness. He was sixty-four years old. He was born in Ohio and moved to the Hampton and Newport News area as a young boy. He attended Bethel High School and Hampton High. Danny loved the ocean and lived in the Outer Banks for a short time. Twenty years ago, he bought seven acres in Providence Forge and built a home that he shared with his wife, Lisa, and their Golden Retriever Roscoe.
He joined C&O Railroad when he was 17 years old and retired from CSX Railroad as a heavy equipment operator after forty-two years of service. He was proud of his work at the railroad and had many railroad buddies.
His bright smile and outgoing personality will be remembered by everyone who knows him. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anybody. Buying and selling stuff was in his blood and he loved auctions and flea markets. Danny and Lisa started a small auction business, where he enjoyed talking with all the folks. Danny had a heart of gold and always had a kind word for everyone. He was dearly loved by his family and will be missed by all.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Angus (Joe) Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Onna Lisa Williams; mother Eula M. Robinson; his dear daughter, Deseree Billings, and her husband Tom; three grandchildren, Ethan, Kendall, and Casey; and his sister, Rita Payne, and her husband Ronni.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 13 at 4:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.
