With a heavy heart, I share with you that my mother, Dora Leigh Bogan, passed away in the early hours of Friday, May 5, 2023.
Anyone that knows Joe and I is well aware of how close we are and how important she is to our families. My mom was a selfless person, always concerned more for others than her welfare. She was very active in her church and found great peace and comfort in her faith. Nothing was more important to my mother than family and friends, especially the time she shared with her grandchildren, Zeta, Jorge, and Sophia.
There will be a memorial service for her at Temple Baptist Church, 235 Harpersville Rd., on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. All family and friends are welcome to attend.

I used to work with your mom and Cynthia. We three shared some great times together. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you both as well as your families.
I’m so very grateful to have known Dora. She hired me almost 22 years ago and was my supervisor until she retired but she felt more like a mom to me. She was always so gentle and compassionate, her faith was an inspiration, and I’m a much better person for having known her. As I once heard, in the coming days, let us not focus so much on our loss as on her gain and look forward to seeing her again one day. Her love for you, her family, was such an important part of her life and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, my dear friend. Yours was a life well lived.
I worked with Dora, and she was always so sweet and willing to help you whenever you needed it. She was so dedicated to her work and everyone that worked with her or for her looked up to her as a mentor. Dora, may you rest in peace as one of our Angels in Heaven.
I met Dora when I was 12 and I babysat her two boys. She moved away and some years later I reconnected with her when I started working at RBHC in 2003. She was a sweet lady and will be missed.
I worked with Dora in several different capacities at RBHC. She always a kind, soft spoken person. However, that did not mean she wasn’t a strong independent woman. Quite the opposite in fact. Her experience and knowledge were valuable in the medical records department. She cared about those she worked with, as well as the quality of the facility overall.
Many prayers to Dora’s family. I know she is now an angel in Heaven, still loving all of you. Many blessings
I am so saddened to learn about the death of Dora. We worked together at RBHC for decades and she was always helpful, kind, friendly, and professional in managing the medical records of our patients. I can’t count the number of audits, quality reviews, and JCAHO surveys that she ALWAYS stepped up to assist me and my fellow managers. We provided such amazing treatment and Dora helped us shine. I am so sorry that I will be out of town and not able to attend her memorial service, but I want her children and grandchildren to know that Dora was loved, respected, and valued as a co-worker and friend. I truly loved her and am sending you prayers for comfort and peace. She made a difference in this world and will be missed.
I worked with Dora and she was the kindest, sweetest lady. She will definitely be missed.
