Rosa Jean Gage Little, 88, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023.  She was a native of Oconee County, South Carolina, and a resident of Hampton, Virginia for over 65 years.  Rosa was a Dairy Manager and Shop Steward for A&P Grocery Store and retired in 1982 with over 20 years of service.   She was a member of Wythe Presbyterian Church, the Moose Lodge, Crafts of All Kinds, and made craft “Time Out” Dolls.  

Rosa was preceded in death by her first husband, William E. Gage, Sr., second husband, Donald Little and long time companion, Paul Smith,  and brothers, C.W. Meares, Robert Meares, Cecil Meares and Virgil Meares.  She is survived by her sons, William Earl Gage, Jr., and George Gage (Cindi); grandsons, Andrew Gage and Matthew Gage; great-grandson, Brenden Gage;  brothers Sylvester Meares, Donald Meares, and Richard Meares; sisters, Mary Ann Stoops and Cookie Burt; and a host of nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Donna DeSarro-Raynal will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
