Dennis Keith McCaskill
The family of Dennis Keith McCaskill of Newport News, VA is saddened to announce his passing on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 62.
Dennis was a man who embraced life. He worked and played with equal amounts of gusto. A devout believer in traditional American values, Dennis also loved the arts. A talented painter himself, Dennis loved great Impressionist artists. Vincent Van Gogh was his favorite.
Dennis instinctively understood the importance of family and friendship. He was always ready and willing to help when it was needed. When his partner, Laurie Solomon, suffered a devastating accident and became handicapped, Dennis sacrificed all of his time in order to give her better care than money could buy.
A skilled carpenter and all-around fix-it man, Dennis was never without work. His specialty was constructing fences.
Dennis loved movies and was a dedicated collector of his favorite titles. He was fascinated by archeology and had an impressive collection of antique bottles.
He was quick to laugh and make a joke, but Dennis knew what was most important in life. A reliable friend, a devoted family member, and proud to have served his country, Dennis will be remembered for his dauntless spirit and his fierce loyalty.
Dennis has joined his beloved mother, Adora Williams, in everlasting glory. He is survived by his stepfather, Charles “Bob” Williams, his sister Karen, and brothers Gene and Donald.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.
