Upon scanning the obits in the Daily Press on Sunday, I recognized your mother’s portrait and name immediately as one of my Beta Sigma Phi sorority sisters from the past. I’ve been a member since 1976 and remember your mom always in attendance with her chapter at local sorority events, as well as state conventions. Here is a light hearted sorority saying I will share with you, “Side by side or miles apart, sorority sisters will always be connected by heart. From secrets to scoops, clothes to coffee, tears to laughs, we’ve shared it all. Thank you for being my all time sorority sister and friend forever!” Peace and blessings to your family during this time of loss.
Lee, sending sincere sympathy on the loss of your sweet mother, Mary Lee. I have known her since I was 23 and working for The C&P Telephone Company in the Riverdale Business Office. The first time I saw her I was instantly taken by her beautiful smile and twinkling blue eyes not to mention that million dollar personality, which I have enjoyed for over 50 years. We both retired from different departments, same company which became Bell Atlantic and lastly Verizon. Use to call her regularly and in later years our friend Brownie and I would visit her in Smithfield and then at The Chesapeake; that was before Covid.
I know she missed your dad so much, they were a perfect couple in every way. I loved her dearly, she’s soaring with the angels now. RIP my friend Mary Lee.
