James A. Canda, 86, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022.
A native of Saginaw, Michigan, Jim had been a resident of Newport News for 45 years. Retired from the USAF as a Master Sergeant after 22 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Canda and their son Jimmy Canda. He is survived by four daughters, Betty Ann Canda Parker of Brookhaven, MS, Dotty Canda Porter of Newport News, VA, Mary Canda Shrewsbury of Salisbury, NC, Michelle Canda of Hayes, VA and one son, Billy Canda of Surry, VA.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 16th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held in Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, August 17th at 11:00 a.m.
