Dora Carol Andrews, 82, of Newport News, passed away peacefully at home on, July 23, 2022. She was born in New Franklin, Missouri. Dora was the daughter of the late Frank and Arlie Hendrix.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Gerald L. Andrews; daughter Patricia A. Minor; sisters Zelda M. Canole, Betty J. Elder, Janice I. Smith and brother, Jesse F. Hendrix. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Carla Girod and her husband John; granddaughters, Jennifer Garcia and her husband Richard, Katrina Clark, Angela Jordan, Sarah Webb and her husband Mark; grandsons, Joshua Slabaugh and his wife Elizabeth, Eric Burton, Logan Minor; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Fay Kempf, Kathryn Andrews; brothers, Lloyd Hendrix, Bill Hendrix and his wife Alice; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was a military wife and lived in many places throughout that time. The most important thing to her was her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA. Her viewing will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA.
