Phyllis Ann Lackey Siam
Phyllis Ann Siam of Newport News, Virginia left this world to join her Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Phyllis was formerly a charter member of Newmarket Baptist Church in Newport News and a recent member of Liberty Live Church in Hampton.
Phyllis was born in Buena Vista, Virginia on January 16, 1931, to William Kyle Lackey and Martha Elizabeth Moore Lackey, both of whom predeceased her. Also predeceasing Phyllis was her brother Kyle Lackey (Stella), sister Marie Williams (Ed), sister Gloria Staton (Henley), and twins Francis Lackey (Phyllis, Laura) and Nancy Barfield (Zeb). Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 71 years, Mehmet (Sam) Siam, son Christian H. Siam (Arleen), daughter Elizabeth “Betty” Burge (Wayne), granddaughter Kristina Siam Marshall, grandsons Stephen Burge, Richard M. Burge, Dwight Burge, Clinton Burge (Crystal), and Christian Siam II (Lisa). Also left behind to remember her are special Great-grandson Cameron Marshall and special Great-granddaughter Mariah Burge, who both visited her in her last days. Phyllis also left many friends and extended family members, including 6 other great-grandchildren and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
To honor her life, a Christian graveside service will be conducted on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park, Garden of Wisdom, by Pastor Joe Hunt of Liberty Live Church. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service at Liberty Life Church, 1021 Big Bethel Road, Hampton VA 23666, where favorite memories will be shared along with a meal hosted by her Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, Phyllis would prefer donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee.

Ms. Phyllis was always so kind to me and glad to hear the latest news about my family. She was a dear neighbor, and I have missed her since she moved from her Newmarket home. May the family continue to be blessed with happy memories of her. My sincere condolences for the family’s loss.
