Betty, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in Newport News, Virginia at the age of 79. Betty was born on May 2, 1942 in Randolph, Virginia to the late Raymond and Sadie Johnson. She grew up in Charlotte County and married Lynwood on September 30, 1961. During her life she raised her son and helped raise grandkids, started a business and enjoyed skiing, tennis, gardening and being team grandma for the infamous football years. She was a friend to many who knew her and was always willing to help those in need. Betty lived for and loved being around her family. She is survived by her loving husband Lynwood; her son Todd and wife Karen; two grandchildren, Katje and Taylor; her brother Larry; two nephews, Bo and Tate; and by the entire Johnson clan and many friends who will miss her dearly. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Denbigh United Presbyterian Church.
