Buena Robertson Crayton (Sammy), 90, of Hayes, VA, passed away at her son’s home on October 21, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 6, 1931, in Gastonia, NC to parents, Albert and Annie Robertson. Sammy was a faithful member of Parkview Church of God. Sammy worked at Singer, Newport News Shipyard, NASA, Ft. Monroe, Ft. Lee, and retiring from Ft. Eustis as a Computer Supervisor (GS13). She loved to sew, wallpaper, decorate and shop.

Sammy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Crayton, Jr. (Chuck), daughter, Vickie Foley, brothers, Larry and Delano, and sisters, Dot Kearns and Louise Gray. She is survived by her son, Gary (Rhonda); grandsons, Gary Crayton, Jr., Michael Warren, Andrew IV, Patrick, and Matthew Foley; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Lamarr (Anita) and Donnie (Annette); sisters, Linda McCullough and Kay Dennis (Richard); sister-in-law, Linda Robertson; and son-in-law, Andrew Foley III.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Peninsula Funeral Home, with a celebration of life service following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home.
