Patricia “Pat” Travis, 87, passed away on September 20, 2021. She was originally from New York and was a resident of Newport News since 1968. Pat was a Special Education bus aide and retired from Newport News Public Schools. She also worked as a hostess for Chick-fil-A Yoder. She was a former member of the Merrimac Dog Training Club.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Travis; son, James G. Travis; and daughter, Angela Carmean. She is survived by her daughter, Denise L. Turner and husband Dave of Gloucester; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her two Boston Terriers.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Peninsula Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Peninsula Memorial Park. The CDC highly recommends masks for inside gatherings.
