John Andrew “Andy” Harris, 83, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.  Andy worked at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and retired in 2001 after 23 years of service.  He was a loving husband, father and Papaw to his grandchildren.  Andy was an avid lover of watching all sports on T.V.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings, and daughter Andrea “Andi” Giles.   He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Juanita Harris; daughters, Cindy Paden (Gary) and Pam Thompson; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 19 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.  The CDC highly recommends masks for inside gatherings. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park.
