Dolores Ann “Lorri” Kenley

Dolores Ann (“Lorri”) Kenley, of Newport News, VA, 84, went to meet her husband, Bill, children, Kevin and LaRane, and parents in Heaven on April 25, 2021.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, William K. Kenley; parents, George Edward Burt and Gertrude Elizabeth “Geggie” Burt; children, Kevin Burt Jones and LaRane Kenley Ward; and brother, George Edward “Bucky” Burt, Jr.  Survivors include her children, Richard C. Jones, III (Jhenny), Christopher A. Jones (Cita), Valerie E. Pember (Billy), Gabrielle S. Snyder (Tim); daughter-in-law, Leony Jones; son-in-law, Richard A. Davis, III; grandchildren, Richard C. Jones, IV, Jessica Rae Correa (Cris), Michael A. Vazquez (“Lori”), Kristen Jones (“Matt”), Cory Burt Jones, Allison N. Snyder (“Jacob”), Sammantha L. Pember, Jason A. Snyder, Edward J. Jones, and John P. Jones; brother, Stephen Andrew Burt (“Bonnie”); loving friends, Christy A. Jones and Laura Worst; her cat, Blue; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
 
Lorri graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School, attended Madison College (now JMU), and received her LPN license from RRMC Nursing School.  She was a part-owner in Archie’s Men Shop in Hidenwood Shopping Center and was an LPN at various nursing facilities, including Chambrel of Williamsburg, Warwick Forest, and The Chesapeake, and volunteered at the RRMC gift shop for many years.
 
Lorri was a member of Menchville Baptist Church, the Peninsula Songbirds, and was active in the Warwick Lions Club Variety Shows.  
Lorri was a loving and beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and loving, giving ways. She enjoyed vacations in the Outer Banks, loved the sound of the ocean, and enjoyed working puzzles.  She was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and was always the perfect hostess.
 
The family would like to thank the staff at Hidenwood Retirement Community for the years of loving care and support.
 
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Menchville Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at noon.  Interment will be at Peninsula Memorial Park.  Guests are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
 
Contributions in her memory may be made to Menchville Baptist Church, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the American Cancer Society.
