Alice G. Harper, 91, died peacefully at home on April 1, 2021 in Newport News, VA. Born in Nicholas County, WV, she was a Newport News resident since 1963. Alice was a longtime member of Deer Park Baptist Church. She was a school bus driver for the city of Newport News for 38 years, a job she absolutely loved. She was also a hairdresser for more than 40 years. Alice enjoyed walking, and working in her yard. She dearly loved her three Yorkies she had over the past 40 years. She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of a local square dance club for many years. She served as an “angel” to new members with their beginner lessons. Alice was known for her quiet genteel smile, light blue eye shadow, pink lipstick, and large bow in the back of her blond curls.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Carl Harper. She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Donnan Bartron; daughters, Teresa Morgan of Corvallis, MT, and Pamela Woodson and her husband Jerry, of Toano, VA; and grandchildren, Sarah Woodson and Adam Woodson.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Peninsula Memorial Park.
