Ronald “Ron” Dean Higgins, 83, of Newport News, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2021. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved Jesus and served him well as a missionary in Asia. He was a man of many talents and many friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Viola Higgins and brothers, Harold and Dennis. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia Martin Higgins; daughter, Rebecca Higgins; brother, Charles Higgins (Carol); sister, Mary Rogers (Paul); and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021 at New Covenant Church, 1079 Big Bethel Road, in Hampton. Guests are required to wear a mask.
