Donald L. Moody, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.  He was a native of Johnson City, TN and had been a resident of Hampton, VA for 70 years.  Donald served in the United States Air Force.  After his service, he had a lengthy career as an automotive mechanic before going into business for himself and owned and operated Moody’s Body Supply for 36 years.   Donald was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, especially loved Chevy Classic Cars 1955-57, and in his spare time, was a country line dance teacher.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Cora Oakes.  Donald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pam Moody; daughter, Terry Morris; son, Tony Moody (Kerry); four grandchildren, Aaron Jackson, Stephanie Cuevas (Luis), Tiffany Letchworth (Matthew) and Raychel Morris; seven great-grandchildren, Hayden Williams, Jadiel Cuevas, Elijah Cuevas, Alayna Cuevas, Jayson Cuevas, Kamryn Jackson, Lillyana Jackson; sister, Kathleen Jones; and niece, Jennifer Kellner and family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.  Facial masks and social distancing will be required.
