Lorna Kay Barringer, age 67, of Newport News, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2021, after many weeks battling COVID-19. Lorna was well known for her big heart, especially when it came to the many pets she cared for throughout her lifetime. She was dedicated to her beloved father and was his sole caregiver for the last 10 years.

Lorna was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Tucker Barringer. She is survived by her father, Raymond Cline Barringer; brother, David Cline Barringer; niece, Lorna Renee Barringer Auby; nephew, Brian David Barringer; great nieces; great nephews; and many close and longtime friends. She also leaves behind a feral cat she called Fat Boy that she was very attached to. Lorna believed a well-fed cat was a loved cat and she loved him very much.

Lorna was a free spirit who felt most at ease with nature and endearingly surrounded herself with an impressive collection of frogs that she will always be remembered fondly for.
