William B. Weaver

Billy Weaver, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 2023.  The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.

Billy was born on March 30, 1977, in Newport News, Virginia, the son of William B. Weaver Jr. and Nancy H. Murphy.  He was preceded in death by his father, his stepfather, Ernie Murphy, his grandparents, Bev and Juanita Weaver, and his beloved “Mema”, Ruth Haynie.

Billy was an adventurous and kind soul, whose heart overflowed with love for his family.  He lost himself in his illness but never the love for his children, Kelsey, Zackary, Riley and Avery.  He was a proud “Pop” to his grandchildren, Liliana, August and Aria.  Nothing compared to Billy’s love for them, but the Miami Dolphins, time spent on the water, cooking amazing meals in the kitchen, coaching his kids’ sports teams and going to concerts were a close second.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, he leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Kristen; his beloved mother, Nancy Murphy; his sisters, Stephanie Hautz (Allan) and Shannon Weaver (Curtis); his stepsister, Heather McElligott (Andrew) and step brothers, Keith Gaskell, Chris Gaskell (Leslie) and Sean Murphy; his step-mother, Frances Weaver and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Orcutt Baptist Church, 653 Baxter Lane, Newport News, Va. on Tuesday, March 14th from 2pm to 3pm followed by a memorial service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to SAARA of Virginia (Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance of Virginia) at 2222 Monument Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23220.
