Wayne Alfred Curfman

Wayne Alfred Curfman, a proud veteran of the USAF, passed away on January 13, 2022, after several months of declining health. The son of Earl Walter and Blanche Helen Griffith, Wayne grew up in Todd, PA. He was born on August 3, 1929, and at the age of 17 enlisted into the USAF. Wayne was later stationed at LAFB, Hampton, VA where he met his wife of 66 years, Sheila Curfman. Wayne remained at LAFB upon leaving the USAF and was employed until he retired in 1981 at Headquarters TAC LAFB. He was a member of Northside Christian Church where he served as an Elder for many years. Wayne loved his church family.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Blanche and Earl Curfman, daughter Cindy Robinson, brother Earl Curfman, and sister Dorothy Smith. Wayne is survived by his wife Sheila Curfman; son Gregory Curfman and wife; daughter Terresa Knighten and husband; and many loving grand and great-grandchildren. He was a loving and dedicated father, grandfather, son, brother, and husband. Wayne’s loved ones will remember him as someone who they could always depend on.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Larry Jones, honoring the life of Wayne will be held on Wednesday, January 19, at 2:00 p.m. Peninsula Funeral Home, followed by a procession to Peninsula Memorial Park.
