Walton Rexford “Rex” Phillips passed away at his home in Yorktown on Friday, April 23, 2021.  He was known for his sense of humor, telling long stories that were not long, making wisecracks, and making everyone around him feel like his family.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gale Phillips, and two sisters, Linda Phillips and Ann Raynor. Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rachael Anthony; son, William Phillips; grandchildren, Jordan, Chase, Josh, Allie; Jordan’s mother, Ginny Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Rodef Sholom Temple or the American Heart Association.  Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.
