Marjorie B. Michael of Newport News passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021, at the Gardens at Warwick Forest Retirement Community after several years of declining health.   She lived a very long, happy, and active life. She was predeceased by her parents, Guy Weston and Alice Ward Boswick, brother, Guy Weston Boswick Jr, and sister, Dorothy Boswick Greenman.

Marjorie was a graduate of Newport News High School and Longwood College and taught school before her daughters were born. Marjorie and Bill had many wonderful travels in the United States, Europe, and beyond and they greatly enjoyed their home of many years on the James River and their beach cottage at Sandbridge.
She enjoyed many activities including tennis, golf, needlework, and was active at Hidenwood Presbyterian Church as well as many volunteer groups.  There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family and friends.

Marjorie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Dr. William H. Michael Jr.; daughters, Caroline M. Rawls (John Perry) of Virginia Beach and Cynthia M. Andrews (Richard) of Wilmington, NC; grandsons, Harvey Pretlow Rawls III, Guy Edward Rawls, Dickson Butler Bridger, Michael Ward Bridger; and her favorite granddaughter, Julia Caroline Andrews.

We would like to thank the Chesapeake Unit of the Gardens for the outstanding and compassionate care that Marjorie received in the past few years.

A Celebration of her life will be held at later date.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.
