Lou was an old friend when I was at NASA and his work on the PAGEOS satellite was a major reason for the success of its mission. The second largest satellite by volume, the 100-foot diameter PAGEOS orbital drag data would provide the best information we have on the highest altitude atmosphere of our planet. My sympathy to Lou’s family.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I was unaware of his work on Pageos. It’s nice to learn new things about my father.

I worked along side Lou when he was the Technical Assistant in the Materials Division and I was a Branch Head, Asst. Division Chief and Division Chief in The Materials Div. He was a competent and personable coworker. I extent my heartfelt condolences to the family.
