Kevin Ray Atkins

Kevin Ray Atkins, 34, born and raised in his hometown Newport News, Virginia, was taken from us too soon and returned to our father in Heaven on April 8, 2023. He was the Son of Richard Felix White (deceased) and Susan Elaine White (deceased) as well as raised and cared for by his loving Stepfather Gary Ray Kennell. Kevin was Brother to Christopher Joseph Atkins, Katherine Elaine White, Austin Randall Hicks, Brandi Lee White, Richard Ian White, and Katherine Ruth White.

Kevin leaves behind the Mother of his children, Leigh Ann Allen, who loved him dearly and their two children: Noah Lee Atkins and Abel Ray Atkins. Kevin was an extremely loving and caring father, his children were his world.

Kevin’s life revolved around his family as well as his many friends (who were also his family). Kevin was full of soo many laughs and just making people happy to brighten their days. Kevin was not opposed to having a good time and like his Mother, his laughter was contagious. Kevin was there for anyone and everyone who needed; whether it was the shirt off his back, or a BIG “Teddy Bear ” hug. Kevin was a very special part of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will forever be in our hearts and souls.

In Celebration of Kevin’s life, a memorial will be held at Newport News Park (Shelter 20) Saturday April 15, 2023 between 1:00pm-5:00pm for family, friends, and supporters, All are Welcome. We ask that all wear yellow or any bright color if possible. This was Kevin’s favorite color and we want to celebrate his bright soul.

Kevin was such an amazing human being and loves his family so much! He will be so very missed in my home and I pray that Leighann and the boys find peace and comfort. The world will never be the same without Kev’s beautiful smile! May he rest in peace and hold a place for the rest of us up there! 💛
