John M. Spindle

John M. Spindle, IV, 76, passed away on July 10, 2021.  He was a native and lifelong resident of Hampton.  John was a maintenance mechanic with Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority and retired after 32 years of service.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth L. and John M. Spindle, III;  step-mother, Katherine Spindle; and daughter, Terri Rich.  He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Naomi Spindle; daughter, Wendy Rubeck; grandchildren, Lindsay Duffy, Andrew Marquis, and Shannon Czesak; great-grandchildren, Ava Duffy, Neela Hopkins, and Riley Czesak; siblings, Brian Spindle and Theresa Clifton; and niece, Terri Makdad.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Keep the Promise Ministries, 402 Wythe Creek Road, in Poquoson.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.

    I will always miss my brother Johnny. I will never forget his generosity and willingness to help others whenever they needed him. Rest in peace brother.

    I would like to thank Johnny’s wife of 38 years for her devotion to him throughout their marriage and excellent care of Johnny, especially during his long illness. I love you Namoi.
