Jason R. Cochran

Jason R. Cochran, a loving father and husband, friend to many, left to be with our Heavenly Father on August 17, 2021. Jason leaves a legacy of hard work, a witty sense of humor, kindness and love for his family and pets. He was always first to lend a helping hand to neighbors, relatives, and friends. Jason was born in Pontiac, Michigan, in 1977, to Diane Bonnivier and Robert Cochran. He attended Waterford Kettering High School prior to joining the U.S. Army, where he served in the Iraq War. After his five-year service to the Army, Jason settled in Virginia, working as a Pipefitter within the Nuclear Testing Department at Huntington Ingalls.

Jason’s memory will always be cherished by his wife, Lora T. Cochran, his sons, Jake and Evan, and his daughter, Brielle. He leaves behind his father and step-mother, Robert and Linda Cochran of Ortonville, Michigan; his mother and step-father, Diane and Ric Bonnivier, of Silverwood, Michigan; sisters, Jennifer Gard, Alexandra Cochran; and brother, Chase Cochran. Other family and friends include Robert and Carolyn Tilley; Matt Tilley; Philip and Patricia Davison, and eight nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, Virginia 23601, with a funeral service to follow at 6:30 p.m. The CDC highly recommends masks for inside gatherings.
