Jane will be missed by many. She had such a sweet spirit and was a good friend for years when we lived in Newport News. She loved her children and always wanted the best for them. Our prayers will be with the family for God’s comfort and peace. Wish we could be there for the service, but we now live in New Jersey. Our John will be especially saddened as David was his best friend growing up.

I was so very lucky to have Mrs Shupe as a second mom for my first 14 years of my life. Her house was the central meeting spot for the entire neighborhood of kids. I have 1970/80s Christmas arts and crafts I made with Mrs Shupe that bring out a Holiday smile every year. I will forever keep her memory in my heart. My deepest condolences go out to her four children and extended families.

My sincere condolences to all of Jane’s family and friends as you grieve her loss. As a neighbor and good friend she meant so very much to our Congdon family. When our mother got older she was there as a loving neighbor and good friend who watched the musical talent shows with Mom or took her to the emergency room if needed.
Of course they could always spend hours talking about their old days teaching. For all of the moments and family experiences that they were there for each other, my sister and I are grateful for their lovely friendship.

My wife and I attended Sister Shupe’s services today to represent my Mom that passed away 2 decades ago. My Mom was bedridden for over 2 years prior to her passing and Sister Shupe would stop by weekly to visit with her. What a Christ like person and good friend to my Mom.

As a long-time neighbor and a godmother to my oldest grandchild she will be missed. My daughter practically lived at her house and grew up with Michelle. So sorry.
