James E. Rosenbaum

James E. Rosenbaum, 69 of Hampton, passed away on December 30, 2022. Jim honorably served in the U.S. Army from July 1971 through November 1977. He retired from Federal Service in February 2010, after 32 years of service. In his younger years, he enjoyed building and working on his Mustangs, which he would drag race at the old Suffolk Drag Strip. Through the years Jim coached multiple teams at Northampton Little League. Jim was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Ray, and Mildred Rosenbaum.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Lynn; two Sons, Chris of Hampton, and John (Tyler) of Suffolk; Sister, Brenda (Norman) of Denham Springs, LA; several nieces; and several great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11:00 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 807 W. Mercury Blvd., Hampton, VA 23666 by Reverend Timothy Crummitt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to, The Doorways, 612 E. Marshall St, Richmond, VA 23219, or a Veterans Charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.

    So sorry for Jim’s passing. Thoughts and prayers with the family. I knew Jim and Brenda thru next door neighbors of Mr and Mrs Hunt. And Jim was son’s little league coach. He was one of the good ones! RIP
