Evelyn Schaal, 80, passed away peacefully in her Newport News home Saturday, December 17, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernice and Elsie Malpass, two brothers Bernie and Glenn Malpass. She is survived by her husband Dudley Schaal and her two daughters: Diane Wallace (Dennis) and Darlene Messick; four grandsons: Connor Scearce (Morgan), Colton Messick (Ema), Landon Messick (Hannah) and Dillon Messick (Felicia) and one great-granddaughter, Ellie Messick. She is also survived by two step-children Jim Schaal and Debbie Brooks as well as step-grand and great grandchildren. In honor of Evelyn’s wishes, there will be no service. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
