Evelyn Kaholo McKeague Souza
It is with profound sadness that the family of Evelyn Kaholo McKeague Souza announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the age of 86. She was a native of Kealia, Kauai, Hawaii, and a Newport News, VA resident for the past 18 years. Evelyn was a stay-at-home Mom of five while her husband served in the US Army.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, William Leo Souza, Jr.; son William Leo Souza, III; both her parents; and ten siblings.
Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Linda Souza-Barney (Larry), Leola Hagemeyer (Dan), Valerie Blackman (Thomas), and Verena Souza; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at the family’s request.
Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.

We are so sorry to hear of Evelyn’s passing. She was a very nice lady and had a very nice family. She will surely be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Thank you, John (and your Evelyn). She will be cremated and her ashes interred with my Dad’s at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery at a later date. I’m still in shock.
