Ethel Williamson Fox

Ethel Williamson Fox passed away on June 25, at age 90, in Newport News, Virginia, where she was born and raised. Her career spanned more than 60 years, most prominently as a legal secretary for David G. Blalock. She was widely known and admired for her work ethic, skill, intelligence and charm.

She and our Dad began our family tradition of annual trips to the Outer Banks, and for a time she was a yearly visitor to New York City, accompanied by family and friends. Of her limited travel to Europe, Paris was her favorite destination.

She loved her beautiful home, was the best Christmas Eve host any family could hope for, and was a great cook. Most of all, she loved her family, creating bonds of love and respect that we thrive on. She gave of herself generously to the end.

She is survived by her beloved brother, Bobby Williamson; her children, Deborah Stevens, Keith Fox (Pam) and Carey Fox; her grandchildren, Ross Stevens (April), Jeff Stevens (Abby), Stephanie Fox Zurinsky (David) and Leslie Fox; and her great-grandchildren, Reid Stevens, Bobbi Zurinsky and Sawyer Zurinsky.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 22 at Peninsula Memorial Park at 1 pm. Please use the Nettles Drive entrance. Arrangements with Peninsula Funeral Home.
