Edna Mae Pugh

Edna Mae Pugh passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the age of 79. She was born in Maven, West Virginia, and has been a resident of Newport News since 1976. Edna worked as a housekeeper for Riverside Regional Medical Center for over 22 years. She was a member of Menchville Baptist Church. Edna had a love for flowers and enjoyed keeping up with the flowers in her flower bed around her home. She enjoyed exploring garage sales and making bracelets.

Edna is preceded by her son, Wilson Clinton; parents, Minnie Tilley, and Okie Tilley; brothers, Billy Tilley, Mack Tilley, Archie Tilley, Tracy Sampson, Danny Earl Sampson; sisters, Georgia Cathleen Metzs, Molly Jean Tilley granddaughter, Kirstyn Clinton; and her in-laws, Mr., and Mrs. John Pugh Sr.

She is survived by her husband, John H. Pugh Jr.; son, Dale Clinton; sisters, Lessie Connors, Lou Tilley, Pauline Alice Wilson, Jayne Major, Judy Kaye Ellison; brothers, Jerry Ray Tilley, Robert Troy Sampson (AKA Skip); 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended friends and family.

A visitation will be held, Friday, December 30, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Peninsula Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be at Peninsula Memorial Park following the service.
