Doris Thornton Riley, 80, of Newport News Va. went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, July 10, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Becky Bass and husband David, a son Walt Thornton, grandchildren, Joey, Tina, Jeanne, Stephanie, 12 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph (Joe) Thornton, and second husband Lewis Riley, a grandson Cameron Martinez, a daughter-In law Beverly Thornton, and a granddaughter Wendy Redfearn.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Hughes officiating. Graveside Service will be Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Tyler Cemetery in Clinton, NC.
