Donald Keith Leonard

On Monday, November 7, 2022, Donald Keith Leonard, loving husband, and a much- loved friend of so many, passed away at the age of 61.
Keith was born on May 22, 1961, in Newport News to Donald and Geraldine Leonard, and spent a happy childhood with his brother, sister and parents in Johnson City, Tennessee.

After graduating from Science Hill High School, he received his certification as a water works professional and maintained municipal water treatment systems for James City County, Newport News City, and Manassas City for 25 years. On March 17, 2002, Keith married his loving wife of 23 years, Robin Claire Albaugh and became an instant beloved father and grandfather.

Nobody knew more sports facts than Keith. He was a passionate Tennessee Volunteers  football fan, enjoyed going to NASCAR races, was an avid 300 bowler, and a ferocious competitor when he played board games. He had an amazingly quick wit, an infectious laugh,
and an enormously kind and compassionate spirit. He never met a stranger and always had time for his family and friends. He got his greatest enjoyment from playing with his great-grandchildren.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Donald, and his mother, Geraldine. He is survived by his wife Robin, his sister, Danita, and brother, Kevin, three granddaughters, Jodie, Julia, and Hailey, seven great-grandchildren, and several cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 12 from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. The interment will be at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery on Monday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m.
