Cheryl N. Deal

Cheryl Nuttall Deal, 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.  She was born on July 29, 1947, and was a native of Newport News and a resident of Hampton for 30 years.  Cheryl graduated from Warwick High School, Class of 1965.  Upon graduation, she worked at Langley NASA.  Cheryl lived in Byron, GA for about 14 years, where her two boys were born and she worked for the U.S. Post Office.  In 1991, she married Dan, lived in Hampton, and worked for Equifax and then for Sentara as an office coordinator.  She retired from Sentara when her grandchildren started arriving.

Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her boys’ friends always wanted to be at her house because she was such a good cook.  Thanksgiving meals were well attended.  Cheryl was an avid reader and in her younger years, loved Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys.  Her other love was gardening.  For all those who knew and loved Cheryl, she will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Dan Deal, who passed two months before her; her parents, George and Jacqueline Gardner Nuttall, and brothers, Donald and Reed Nuttall.   Cheryl is survived by her sons, Robert Green (Jennifer) of Saluda and Richard Green of Hampton; three grandchildren, Danielle, Caitlyn, and Beau; sister, Brenda; sisters-in-law, Jean and Janet Nuttall; two brothers, Gary Nuttall (Debbie) and David Nuttall (Michael-Ann); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Today 6/7/21 I am just learning the news of my cousin Cheryl who joined her Divine Lord on the Shores of Paradise where she is renewed and made whole again to perfection where no tears, suffering, or separation will ever be a part of eternal life. I know as you were able to run to the arms of your waiting Family what a reunion you must have had. Here Cheryl you will be missed, but not one would desire to remove you from the Glory and Happiness you now experience. Until we shall meet again, I love you, and I pray our Lord will provide your Family remaining great comfort. Cheryl, may you rest in the arms of Jesus for ever and ever. Your cousin Dwayne Davis. To the Family, please accept my most sincere condolences and please remember all Memories are gifts from God that death can never destroy. Also when a loved one passes away that Memory becomes a Treasure.
