Caroline Marie Wyatt Thompson

Caroline Marie Wyatt Thompson, 43, died unexpectedly on May 14, 2021. She was born on August 3, 1977 and was a lifetime resident of York County. She was the daughter of John and Alma Wyatt, an identical twin to Catherine Murdock, and sister to Jon Shaffer, Cherryll David and the late Mark Wyatt.

Caroline married the love of her life, Richard Thompson on June 22, 2005 which is a family tradition. She had two beautiful daughters, Julia Anne and Catherine Grace and was “Mommy #2” to her nephews, Wyatt and Luke Murdock.

Caroline was an amazing teacher who loved all her students and truly made an impact. She worked, lived and loved the York County Schools though her most important role was being a loving wife and mother. She was a dedicated servant of the Lord and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and VBS. She was a proud member of the Phi Mu Fraternity through CNU. She loved 1975 VW Beetles and classic cars and was a member of the Peninsula Volkswagen Club. Caroline always put others first, her last caring act being donation of her organs.

Caroline was preceded in death by her grandparents, brother, Mark Wyatt and her mother, Alma Wyatt. She leaves behind many loved ones, family and friends. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., in Newport News. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, in Poquoson. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park. Masks are recommended. Social distancing will be required.
