Annette Damino Anderson

Annette Damino Anderson, 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.  She was a native of Newport News and had been a resident of Williamsburg, VA for 20 years.   Annette lived in Williamsburg in later years with her sister, Maxine Llewellyn; before that, she lived in Newport News her entire life.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Michael Hipple Brothers for 10 years as well as several other companies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Lucille Damino.  Annette is survived by her son, Tony Anderson (Kathy); grandson, Eric Paul Anderson; sister, Maxine Llewellyn; niece, Brou Llewellyn; and nephew, Nick Llewellyn.

Annette liked to travel, read, and had a great sense of humor.  She was a graduate of Newport News High School, Class of 1956, and enjoyed keeping up with her classmates.  Some of the best times were spent with family and friends on trips to Nags Head.  She will be missed by all those she left behind.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.  Masks are recommended and social distancing will be required.  

Memorial donations may be made in Annette’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org).  Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home.

    She is remembered for the joy she brought in difficulty, understanding and support in good times. She is a dear friend and mentor. Rest, you paid your dues and helped others as they paid theirs. See you on the other side.

    Although I lost contact with Annette, I worked for she and Mickey at Motorsports. I remember her as very supportive of me. There were few females working there.
