Adolphus “Garland” Moseley, III

Adolphus “Garland” Moseley, III was born in Newport News, VA on January 16, 1936 to Adolphus Garland Moseley, Jr. and Margaret Morris Moseley. He died on November 2, 2022 at his home with his family after an illness of several months.

He was married for 65 wonderful years to his college sweetheart, Margaret Shreeves Moseley. They met at The College of William & Mary.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, three sons: Garland (Sharon), Michael (Robyn) and Philip (Julie), four grandchildren: Steffen Moseley, Rachael Shenk (Noah), Silver Conlon (Jake) and Bryce Kuhns (Kelly) and three great-grandchildren. He’s also survived by two brothers: Morris Moseley (Shirley) and Frank Moseley.

Garland had a passion for cooking and especially enjoyed seafood. He passed on his love for the ocean to his sons with his many trips to the Outer Banks throughout his life. He always had a dog; his last two were White West Highland Terriers, Popcorn and Andy. He had a green thumb and loved to watch things grow. He enjoyed the wildlife in his own backyard and feeding the birds. He loved technology, spending hours on his computer devising many things to improve life at home.

He was president of Moseley Furniture, which was in business for over 100 years.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
